An article from Esquire may have spilled all the grains, including the V8 with a power of 495 horsepower.
Three years ago we caught our first blurry look at an early prototype of the C8 Corvette, heavily covered with camouflage. Now the covers are a little earlier than the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Esquire was briefly published by Apple News, revealing the final product and some key stats. Although the article was downloaded, we were able to get the information before it disappeared. It's still technically unofficial, but it looks like the Corvette with the average power we're waiting for.
First, the engine. According to the information that has elapsed since Esquire this is a 6.2-liter V8 called the LT2, as we expected, by developing impressive 495 horsepower and 470 pounds of torque. Completed with the Z51 Performance Package, this car is expected to reach 60 mph in less than three seconds. Note that this is the Corvette base model and if you want a comparison, the current 757 hp. The C7 ZR1 makes the same sprint for 2.8 seconds. This is not a bad way to introduce a completely new platform.
