Our friends at Draft Wire have a brand new NFL 2020 layout of the uniform variety. Despite the fact that the Pittsburgh Steelers have no first-round selection, this does not stop us from delving into those drafts to see who Pittsburgh misses in the first round. Pittsburgh traded its first round to the Miami Dolphins this season for safety Minka Fitzpatrick.
In this hypothetical, the Steelers' first-round pick is No. 8 overall. And with that, select the Dolphins select the wide receiver CeeDee Lamb in Oklahoma. Lamb is one of the two most dynamic offensive playmakers in the entire project. He is a true # 1 receiver and future star.
This season, Lamb has only 31
Would the lamb fill the need? Absolutely. JuJu Smith-Schuster is struggling to take on the No. 1 role in this team. And there is no one else on the list who threatens opposing defenses.
So far this season, we've gone through a handful of mock drafts, and frankly this is the first choice where you can reasonably wonder if Fitzpatrick is a better player than the one selected. Pittsburgh's defense continues to improve and the offense is still chasing its tail. A player like Lamb will do some offense much better. But not to Pittsburgh.
