2021 Summer TV preview – Rolling Stone

Some of last year’s most beloved shows premiered over the summer, from the piercing darkness of I can destroy you and Lovecraft Country to the joyful optimism of Ted Lasso and The baby club. But it was a much rarer TV summer in general that we’ve become accustomed to in recent years, as the backlog of series shot before the pandemic began to run out before Hollywood began to return seriously to production in the fall.

Quantitatively, the summer of 2021

looks much more stable, thanks to the vaccine and the industry, which has figured out how to work effectively under the Covid protocols. We hope there will also be a lot of quality between returning favorites like Lasso or long-term Brooklyn nine or nineand intriguing new shows that cover everything from superheroes to excited comedians, sexy spies, animated ladybirds, privileged high school kids, enchanted college professors, and more.
