ATHENS – This is a game with your scores for Georgia, but in addition, Kirby Smart and his staff have goals to achieve.
Bulldogs No. 3 Ranking (1-0) Contracts FCS Murray State (1-0) Payment of $ 550,000 to be their banquet for 60 minutes regulation at Sanford Stadium starting at 4pm
To it is clear that competitors do not enter the arena for this purpose. In fact, Murray State's head coach created waves with a chipped press conference discussing the need for his team to harm and bleed Georgia's football team.
So if you are intelligent, what do you want to do beyond victory? Here are three keys to a successful Saturday for the Bulldogs' football program who want to stay on track for the College Football Playoff Season:
. Keep the team healthy
Georgia is already entering this game, with two players missing from the opening season due to injuries. Receiver Kiris Jackson (arm) and offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson (ankle) are expected to miss out on a push next Saturday (Arkansas). The smart and the Bulldogs can't afford to lose other players, especially starters, at a fair amount.
2. Make Field Throws
This, of course, should not come at the expense of number 1 on this list, and that's the trick. Murray State is actually pushing in several different directions and the last thing UGA needs is Jake Fromm, who takes unnecessary punches. Smart said after the Vanderbilt game, the Bulldogs need better pass protection. Smart also said he wanted to see Fromm go down more often, but again, this would not come at the expense of the vulnerability in his pocket.
So-called "Buy" games are boring for fans, but useful for the program and dressing room. Georgia receives an added home game without having to play a return game in the future, and several players who would normally not be able to play make it to the field and are rewarded for all their hard work in practice. This is a great opportunity to build depth and maybe even encourage new racing for playing time.
