Black Friday is almost synonymous with TV offers, but in reality most of the offers advertised during shopping are not worth the time. While many retailers are happy to bring out large screens at cheap prices, the actual image quality of these cheaper displays is usually mediocre. In other words, you usually get what you pay for.

7;s what he said about a handful of TVs are Good value, Black Friday is usually the best time to pick up a new kit. You can take a look at our list of the best Black Friday deals for a more general overview, but to make things easier for those who specifically want to get a new centerpiece for their living room, we have prepared a separate description of the best black Friday TV offers we can find.

Although we do not regularly review TVs here at Ars, we have reviewed the feedback in forums and feedback sites that we trust to complement our own impressions. We’ve also taken care to check the price history charts to ensure that each offer below brings real savings over what you would pay at other points during the year. We’ll be sure to update this post if there are more good discounts, but just be warned that some deals may sell out before the end of the day, as Black Friday sales started earlier than usual this year.

The best deal here is probably LG’s $ 1,200 BX OLED TV for $ 1,200, which is the lowest price we’ve seen. LG’s OLED TVs have been highly valued for years, and the BX is the entry-level model in the company’s current range. It lacks the brighter panel and sophisticated image processor on LG’s CX step-by-step kit – which sold for $ 1,400 earlier this week, but now appears to be in stock – so it’s best used in darker rooms. Still, for those who have never owned an OLED TV before, it should be a significant upgrade, with excellent contrast, a wide color gamut and a refresh rate of 120 Hz with VRR support.

If the LG models disappear, Sony’s A8H OLED TVs have a similar review, but a little more expensive. Meanwhile, Sony’s X950H and Samsung’s Q80T are strong choices for those who prefer a premium kit with a more traditional LCD / LED and a slightly more affordable price / size ratio.

As for the more affordable options, you get what you pay for again, but the Vizio M7-Series Quantum seems to be a good value among mid-range models, while Toshiba’s TCL Series 4 and Fire TV Edition kits should provide a decent value for the budget end, depending on what size you want. All are up to the lowest prices we have tracked. Unfortunately, we don’t see any deals for TCL’s popular 5 or 6 series TVs from Roku at the time of writing.

Beyond real TVs, Black Friday also brought some good deals for home theater devices that we like, including the Sonos Beam compact soundtrack for a new $ 299 low, a number of Roku and Fire TV media streamer deals, and the best price we tracked on the higher class Nvidia Shield TV.
