An anonymous complaint officer against President Trump was reached to testify before the House Intelligence Committee. But just when it happens, it's still up in the air. Commission chairman Adam Schiff says protecting the identity of whistleblowers is a major concern. Trump tweeted a whistle about the whistle over the weekend, saying he deserves to meet my accuser. The president's escalating threats prompted attorneys representing the whistleblowers to send letters to Acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire, expressing concern for the safety of the individual.
2. The killing of Jamal Hashogi
Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has said he did not order the October 201
8 killing of Washington Post colonist Jamal Hashogi. Bin Salman, in an interview with CBS '60 Minutes, said he took full responsibility for the killing, as the killing was carried out by people working for the Saudi Arabian government. The CIA concluded that Bin Salman had personally ordered the murder of Hashogi. Hashoghi was killed and dismembered after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey.
3. Protests in Hong Kong
The 17th consecutive weekend of anti-government protests in Hong Kong was one of the most violent. Protesters threw Molotov cocktails, tossed bricks and lit fires. Police responded with tear gas, a live-action warning and a water cannon that fired a blue dye (used to stain protesters to facilitate identity later). The violence comes just before the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, when Beijing hopes to project an image of national power and unity with a huge military parade.

The death of a deputy chief of the sheriff in Harris County, Texas, is felt worldwide. Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal was shot dead and killed during a traffic stop on Friday. He was an observant Sikhist who gained national attention years ago when given permission to wear a turban as part of the Harris County Sheriff's Office uniform. Now the Sikh community in Houston and around the world is mourning his loss. Thousands of people are expected to gather at a basketball arena in Houston later this week to honor his life.
5. The weather
is not yet October, but Montana is already covered with nearly two meters of snow. A winter storm is still blowing through the state and other parts of the Rockies. A winter storm warning will be in effect for parts of north-central Montana this morning. In addition to snow, there have been reports of downed trees and power lines. Snow in September in this part of the country is not that rare, but the amount of snow is unusual at this time of year. Meanwhile, in the Atlantic, Hurricane Lorenzo is storming across the ocean like a Category 3 storm. For a short time, Lorenzo was a severe Category 5 storm over the weekend before weakening. This is the strongest hurricane ever recorded north and east in the Atlantic basin. Lorenzo is expected to cross the Azores in a few days.
