A case of hepatitis A, confirmed by McAllister Deli in Kingsoft, asking some clients to take action



KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) – Health officials say an employee of King's Restaurant has been diagnosed with hepatitis and some clients have to take action.

According to the Sullivan County Department of Health, an employee of Delicates of McAllister, located in Eastman Road, in 2003, was diagnosed with acute hepatitis A.

The healthcare department says that customers who ate at the restaurant from March 1

1 to March 27, contact the department for more information. The department says McAllister has taken preventive measures, including closing the cleaning shop and requiring employees to vaccinate.

The Department of Health will offer free hepatitis A vaccines to:

  • Central Campus County Health Authority,
    154 Blountville Bypass, Blountville, TN 37617
  • Sullivan County Regional Health Authority Kingsport Office) Symptoms of hepatitis A include fatigue, decreased appetite, stomach pain, nausea, dark urine, pale faeces and jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes).
