WASHINGTON (KDVR) – A man traveling from Colorado to Washington for the Pro Trump rally in the Capitol was arrested after authorities discovered threats against the Republic of Nancy Pelosi.
According to court records obtained from the New York Times, Cleveland Grover Meredith Jr. is accused of transmitting a threat in interstate trade, possession of unregistered firearms and illegal possession of ammunition.
The FBI received information that Meredith had sent a text message saying, “Thinking of targeting Pelosi’s (insulting) speech and putting a bullet in her foot on live television (purple devilish emoji),”
The agents agreed to search his hotel room, cell phone, truck and trailer on January 7. Glock 19 9 mm pistol, Tavor X95 submachine gun, hundreds of cartridges, a box of presumed THC dishes and a bottle of testosterone found.
Records show that Meredith was not registered for a firearm in Washington, DC, which is a crime, along with the presence of ammunition for an unregistered pistol.
Meredith told agents she was due to arrive on January 5 from Colorado, but it was too late for the January 6 rally.
