ISTANBUL (AP) – A devoted dog spent days waiting in front of a hospital in northern Turkey, where its sick owner was being treated.
The pet, Boncuk (Bon-DJUK), meaning bead, followed the ambulance that transported its owner, Jemal Senturk, to a hospital in the Black Sea town of Trabzon on January 14th. She then made daily visits to the facility, private news agency DHA reported on Wednesday.
Sentürk’s daughter, Ainur Egeli, said she would take Bonchuk home, but the dog would repeatedly run away and return to the hospital.
Hospital security guard Mohamet Akdeniz told the DHA: “She comes every day around 9 am and waits until nightfall. She does not enter.
“When the door opened, she stuck her head in,”
On Wednesday, Bonchuk finally reunited with Centurk when he was pushed out in a wheelchair for a brief reunion with his dog.
“She is very used to me. I also miss her, all the time, “he told the DHA.
Senturk was discharged from the hospital later Wednesday and returned home with Bonchuk.
