The remains found near Canadian, Texas are identified as Thomas Brown, 18, who disappeared from the area since November 2016
from Canadian, Texas, was found off Marvin Road Road – near Lake Marvin, "read a press release Tuesday by Klein Investigations and Consulting, a private investigating group working with Brown's family. "His remains are confirmed by the dental records."
Family members were informed about the discovery on Tuesday afternoon.
"We pray for prayers for our family, Thomas's friends and our community," Thomas Penny Kendall-Mike's mother told Dateline Wednesday. "We are crushed by the heart."
The press release said on Tuesday that the wreckage was "found by a person who has heard the law enforcement call and [Klein Investigations and Consulting] wants everyone to keep a watch on Lake Marvin Road." the remains were found.
"Man did the right thing – if you see something to say," the paper writes. "Though the discovery of Tom's remnants has somehow closed the secret of his location, there are still questions about what really happened on Lake Marwin Road. And now, the investigation will start a new phase, and those who may know something have to go ahead. "
The press release does not mention the cause of Thomas's death. The Hemphil County Sheriff's Office told Dateline in November 2018 that in the beginning of 2018 Thomas's case was handed over to the Texas Texas Department of Criminal Investigation in Texas. As originally announced by Dateline, Thomas Brown was last seen in his hometown of Canadian, Texas, on the night of November 23, 2016. Thomas's family was concerned as soon as he could not return home with his usual night hour. Thomas has never missed a curfew. He would even go home before the Commandant Hour, and then he and his friends would play video games, "his mother Penny told Dateline in November 2018. Penny said that both of them with Thomas's brother were traveling around town for a few hours. Thomas's car, but he was not lucky.
Without Penny's knowledge, a few hours later, after dawn, one of Thomas's friends went with his father in a helicopter to search for Thomas's car. They noticed the car in a remote part of Texas's Texas suburbs, about four miles from Thomas's home. But Thomas could not be seen anywhere.
"It was discovered near the place where our lakes are located, which is not close to wherever he would go," said Penny on Dateline for the location of the car. Penny added that Thomas's phone, laptop, backpack, and keys were missing from the car even though the chargers were still there.
Two months after Thomas disappeared, his backpack was about four miles from where his car was found. About 10 months later, on a subsequent search, there is Thomas's phone. It was five miles from where his backpack was, nine miles from the car.
Tomas was in high school in high school when he disappeared.
"The first year, when Thomas was missing, we wanted to grant a scholarship in his honor because he did not graduate with his class," Penny told Dateline in November. "We hope we can raise enough money to get a Canadian scholarship each year, but we can also grant scholarships throughout the Panhandle period."
Penny added that the scholarship is to honor Thomas, and also to return to the people who have helped her and her family for the past two years.
"I have no words to describe the support we have received in Panhandle," she said. "I received messages from people around the world."
