A Greenville County teacher was killed Sunday near a rabbit trail in Greenville after being hit by a car that took off, according to the coroner. was stopped west at a footpath and an unknown vehicle was traveling north on Sulfur Spring Road, according to a South Carolina highway patrol. The cyclist entered the sidewalk and was hit by the vehicle, the military said. The cyclist was identified as Carli Brewer Soukup, 33, of the Taylors, according to the coroner. Sukup was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene. She taught fifth grade at Mitchell Road Elementary. A GCS Care team of grief counselors will be at the school on Monday to offer staff support.

The forensic doctor’s office was called on Sulfur Springs Road, around 1:30 p.m., Sunday afternoon.

A cyclist was stopped west at a footpath and an unidentified vehicle was traveling north on Sulfur Spring Road, a South Carolina highway patrol said.

The cyclist entered the sidewalk and was hit by the vehicle, soldiers said.
