33-year-old Paige Thompson was arrested in connection with the offense, the Justice Department announced Monday. The department claims that Thompson "posted on GitHub information sharing site about stealing information from servers that store Capital One data."
Thompson previously worked as a software engineer for a technology company and was able to gain access by using an incorrectly configured firewall for web applications, DOJ said.
