A traffic reporter in Boston says she was fired for breach of contract after appearing in a new Netflix movie starring Adam Sandler.

Alaina Pinto announced on Twitter on Thursday that she had been fired from her job as a news anchor on independent television WHDH after running a cameo campaign on Hubie Halloween, the Netflix comedy.

“Earlier this week, I was released by 7 News,” tweeted Pinto.

“I am publishing this because I want to be open and honest with all of you.

In Hubie Halloween, Sandler plays an eccentric community volunteer who investigates a real murder in Salem, Massachusetts.

The film, which was shot last year in several places in Massachusetts, including Salem, Linfield, Hamilton and Manchester by the sea, debuted on Netflix on October 7.
