A woman who killed a pregnant woman and stole an unborn baby by cutting it off from the victim’s womb is set to become the first woman executed by the federal government in 70 years, the Justice Department said Friday.
Lisa Montgomery, who was found guilty of the horrific crime of December 2004, must be executed by lethal injection on December 8 at the US Penitentiary Terre Haute, Indiana, the MoD reported.

Montgomery admitted to killing Stinet and abducting her child, federal officials said.
She was found guilty in October 2007 of federal kidnapping that led to her death.
The last woman executed by the federal government was Bonnie Heedy. She was killed in a gas chamber in Missouri in 1
