LEESBURG, Washington – A woman who lost her job after pointing the middle finger at President Donald Trump's motocade has won a seat on the Virginia County Board of Supervisors.
With 99 percent of the vote reported by the Loudoun County Election Office on Tuesday night, unofficial returns showed Democrat Julie Brickman to Republican President Susan Volpe with 52 percent of the vote.
Briskman stated among his goals that he would increase transparency in local government.
Briskman was cycling in October 2017 and was captured making the gesture while traveling in Trump's car.
She told her bosses what happened after the photo went viral and was asked to quit her government job or be terminated. She brought the case and won the claim for damages, but her case for wrongful termination was dismissed.
