Attorney General William Barr ordered the restoration of the federal death penalty after a 16-year pause, the Justice Ministry said on Thursday.
The executions are scheduled to take place in December 2019 and January 2020.
"Congress explicitly authorized the death penalty by legislation passed by the representatives of the people in both chambers of Congress and signed by the president," said Bar in a statement.
The last federal execution occurred in 2003 when Luis Jones Jr. was murdered for raping and killing 19-year-old troops.
