Washington Capitan Captain Alex Ovechkin did his best to help capitals finish their longest loss after four years.
The Russian machine scored a hat trick against San Jose Sharks, 23rd in his career and scored four points. Ovi's third goal came in the third period and gave Capitals 6-4 a lead. The caps will lose in the sequel to 7-6, losing their sixth.
The game began with the transfer from Evgeni Kuznetsov. Cousin rushed to Jakub Vrana, who found Alex Ovechkin from the left wing who broke the net. Ovi shot with a timer, defeating Martin Jones for his third goal of the evening.
