Gareth Miller of Texas faces five criminal charges stemming from the Capitol uprising, including misdemeanor and death threats. Miller allegedly tweeted “murder of AOC”, according to court documents.
In new court documents, prosecutors say Miller posted in detail on social media before and during the attack, saying “a civil war could break out” and “the next time we bring in weapons.”
He was arrested on Wednesday, according to the Ministry of Justice. Federal prosecutors are asking a judge to keep him in jail until a court hearing, and a detention hearing is scheduled for Monday.
