We have a new annoyance from Patrick Schur, who has published some details about the purpose of powering the Navi 22 GPU ̵
AMD will keep the number of cores of the new Radeon RX 6700 XT the same as Radeon RX 5700 XT, but will benefit significantly from energy efficiency, higher clock speeds and rough performance – as well as the estimated 12 GB RAM – up from 8GB to RX 5700 XT .
We are looking at a Navi 22 XT with a power of 186-211W, compared to 225W based on the Navi 10 Radeon RX 5700 XT. The abbreviated Navi 21 XL-based Radeon RX 6700 (non-XT) will use anywhere between 146-156W, which is much less than the 180W used for the Radeon RX 5700.
We expect the Radeon RX 6700 XT to come with a faster 192-bit memory bus, so we can expect 6 GB or 12 GB GDDR6 – with the Radeon RX 6800 and Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics cards, both of which have 16 GB of RAM then I expect the Radeon RX 6700 series cards to contain 12GB.
As for when we’ll see AMD release its new Radeon RX 6700 series cards, it looks like the window is January 2021, so expect some huge versions in January 2021, as NVIDIA has its new mid-range GeForce RTX 3060 Ti just around the corner …
