American kids would rather be YouTubers than astronauts

Just 50 years ago, the Saturn V rocket launched from the Kennedy Space Center carried Moon Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. Four days later, Armstrong and Aldrin will land on the Moon and inspire a generation of young people to become scientists, engineers, and mathematicians.

The effect of Apollo's program is to inspire American children to pursue their STEM career. a powerful lasting heritage of the moon race. Unfortunately, this effect seems to end.

1, LEGO has asked Harris Poll to study a total of 3,000 children in the United States, China, and the United Kingdom for their attitudes to knowing space. The results reveal that at least for Western countries, children are more interested in YouTube than in space flights today.

When asked about what they would like to be when they grew up, about 3 in 10 American and British children answered that they wanted to be YouTubers or Vloggers – Careers, who make video on the internet for fame and fortune. In China alone, children have a clear preference to be an astronaut – or, rather, a tabacco – to other potential professions. Children in China were also much more interested in entering space and had higher expectations of space in the coming decades.

<p>  It is unclear why children in the western world are less interested in space or space occupations than those in China. Perhaps this is because America has been there and has done so, in terms of the lunar exploration, with Apollo's program. Or perhaps the education system in China places a stronger emphasis on the value of science and space exploration. </p>
