One of the many aspects of Android that is updated with Android 12 is the quick settings area. With Android 12 Beta 2, the quick settings area gets quick access to Google Pay, Google Home shortcuts, and a power button.
On Android 12, the power button is optional taking on a new role, with a long press as another way to summon Google Assistant. This means that there should be a new way to access the power menu of Pixel phones, which Google has decided by placing a power button just below the quick settings area. Visible only when Quick Settings is fully expanded and is in the form of a common Power logo to the right of the Edit and Settings buttons.
Similarly, the power menu no longer includes the “Device Controls”
Like the old Maps and Maps view, tapping Wallet opens a list of your saved cards, contactless payments, and more. If your device has a preferred payment card set up, you’ll see a thumbnail version of it in the quick settings area. Device Controls, as before, shows a handful of quick switches and settings for your favorite Google Home devices.
