The Massachusetts Department of Public Health said Wednesday that an additional 1,426 people in the state have recovered from COVID-19.

As of August 5, weekly data show that 99,021 patients have been released from isolation, meaning they are thought to have recovered from the virus.

Last week, state health officials said 97,595 patients had recovered from COVID-19.

DPH also reported an additional 338 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and confirmed two new COVID-19-related deaths throughout Wednesday, leading to a confirmed state coronavirus mortality of up to 8,488.

The state’s daily and weekly reports were published more than three hours late after health officials said “significant” IT problems had affected data production.
