Many of you who watch WWE SmackDown may notice that there is a renewed effort to promote younger talents or talents who have not been given much of a chance before.
Otis won a clear victory over Ray Mysterio in this week’s episode of SmackDown during a team match. Ray and Dominic Mysterio lost to Otis and Chad Gable after Otis nailed Ray after hitting his big shot. Otis and Gable turned on the power last week.
Meanwhile, Apollo Crews got time for a promotion in the SmackDown ring this week. He talks about how good and humble he was, but he didn’t get the same respect. The crews said he was not “from the hood” or “from the suburbs,” but he was a true African American. During his promotion, he talked about his pedigree and said, “I am what I represent.”
Crews said the colors he wore represented “wealth, dominance and power,” and Big E found out last week. His promotion was interrupted by Shinsuke Nakamura, who was scheduled for a match with Crews. The crews won by picking Nakamura and it looks like the crews against Big E for the Intercontinental Championship will be reserved for WrestleMania.
Others who have been pushed out in recent weeks are Nakamura and Cesare. You can credit Daniel Brian for this because he is part of the creative team and he lobbies to give more TV time to certain fighters who have been underused over the years.
