Registered developers can download the new iOS 12.2 beta from the Apple Developer Center or over the air after the right configuration profile is installed by the Developer Center. The update will be available exactly at 10:00 Pacific Time or 13:00. Eastern time zone.

iOS 12.2 for the first time extends Apple News to Canada, with Canadian iPad and iPad users reading the news in English, French or both. Apple says that during beta, the content will be more limited than it will when the update is released.

For some AT & T users there is a new "5G E" icon for the cellular signal that replaces the standard LTE icon. This is a little misleading for AT & T because the iPhone does not support 5G, nor does the AT & T network call 5G E 5G. The Wallet app interface is optimized and modified, has a new interface for Apple Pay Cash, and Screentime Downtime now lets you personalize by day. Apple improves Safari privacy on iOS 12.2 with a new motion and orientation switch located in Settings> Safari> Privacy> Security that is disabled by default. The setting must be enabled to allow websites to display content that is based on accelerometer and gyro movement data on the iPhone and iPad .
iOS 12.2 confirms that Apple plans to release the second-generation AirPods with "Hey Siri support thanks to the hidden" Hey Siri "AirPods setup screen in beta. Turning on the AirPods setup option in the beta shows that Apple may be planning to release new AirPods when iOS 12.2 is released.
The update also contains hints about an upcoming Apple News subscription service that can see the Texture-like magazine, added to Apple News.
iOS 12.2 will probably see several beta testing cycles before it launches publicly.
