The Arizona Game and Fish Department says chronic loss of disease, often referred to as "zombie deer disease," is reported in several neighboring states, including Utah, Colorado
Officials violate related rules with the transportation and possession of elk and deer in Arizona by outside hunters
Among them is that hunters can enter with meat that has been boned or has been commercially purchased and packaged. Other conditions include the presence of skin without meat or soft tissue.
Hunters can check with their condition for all rules.
Chronic loss of disease is a neurological disease that attacks the brains of infected animals and is always fatal. Officials say it may spread through contact between animals and animals or soil, plants or contaminated surfaces.
