The asteroid impact 66 million years ago caused a chain reaction to events that destroyed dinosaurs and two-thirds of life on Earth. Since the asteroid killer hit Earth, much smaller cosmic rocks and comets have stuck to the planet. Fortunately, we are yet to see another large object fly directly to us, an event that NASA claims happens once "every few million years." As a result, scientists are certain that the cosmic rock will hit Earth sooner or later, and they must prepare for it when that happens.
Lambit Yopik, Speaker of Parliament for the Asgardian Space Nation, told Express.co.uk that protecting Earth from asteroids is one of Asgardia's main goals.
Mr Opick said: 'It is a matter of life and death. The chance of impact is 1
A former British politician who was a MP in Montgomeryshire, Wales between 1998 and 2010, has launched a campaign in Parliament to raise awareness of space threats. In 1999, he called on the government to invest between £ 500,000 and £ 1 million annually in tracking asteroids.

The group published a report in September 2000 calling for more studies as distant as well as near asteroids – the so-called Near Earth Objects (NEO).
Even Mr. Jopik's grandfather was an astronomer whose work focused on the many asteroids passing through the Earth.
Mr Opik is now working with the world's first space state to prepare the Earth for what he thinks is inevitable. space hazard.

Mr Jopik says: "It happens very rarely, but when it happens, it is catastrophic and will erase between 70 and 95 percent of all life. This is what seems to have happened before.
"Asgardia, as one of its main mission objectives, is dedicated to the creation of a kind of space security initiative to protect our home planet, as we would call it, from space threats." Asgardia, or the Cosmic Kingdom Asgardia, is the world's first micronation founded in 2016 with the launch of a satellite in Earth's orbit.
The cosmic nation aims to establish the permanent presence of man in space by building outposts and conception. the first child outside the world.

Lambit Jopik, Speaker of Parliament for the Space Nation of Asgardia
Asgardia hopes to put humans in space in the next 25 years.
But to achieve these lofty goals, Asgardian scientists must prove that humans in space can be protected from threats like asteroids.
Asteroids are not the only threat that lurks in space, Mr. Öpik argued, but they are the most dangerous and easiest to predict.
Fortunately, leading space agencies like NASA do not expect much impact in the foreseeable future.
The US Space Agency stated: "Experts estimate that the impact of an object the size of one that erupted in Chelyabinsk, Russia in 2013 – about 55 feet – is occurring once or twice a century.
"The impact of larger objects is expected to be much less frequent – across the ages of millennia.
"However, given the current incompleteness of the NEO catalog, unforeseen impacts – such as the Chelyabinsk event – can occur at any time. ”
In early 2019, NASA stated that the number of discovered NEOs was over 19,000 and approximately 30 new space rocks were discovered every week.
