ASUS has made its next wave of dual-screen laptops more practical

The package completes a pair of Thunderbolt 3 compatible USB-C ports, a full-size USB 3.1 port, HDMI output, WiFi 6, a 90 Wh battery and, of course, this second screen. This time, ASUS has offered a larger 14-inch 4K panel to serve as a ScreenPad – a little more about that in a moment. Of course, the huge amount of things that ASUS squeezes into this thing means that it may be best suited to sit in one place – it weighs only a hair under 5.3 kilograms.

For those looking for something more portable, there is the ZenBook Duo 1

4 and its 14-inch 1080p touch screen. It’s not as powerful as its bigger brother, although you can configure it pretty well though – it comes with integrated Intel Xe graphics, but you can choose the NVIDIA GeForce MX450 and get your choice of Core i5 -1135G7 or one of Intel’s 11th generation 17-1165G7 processors. The Duo 14 also comes with up to 32 GB of LPDDR4x RAM, up to 1 GB of storage, two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, one full-size 3.2 Gen 1 USB port, HDMI output and a microSD card slot.

ASUS put it all together plus a 70Wh battery in a body that weighs just over 3.5 pounds. This may just be worth it if you’re a fan of the 12.6-inch ScreenPad Plus display sitting just above the keyboard.

Now for these second screens. One of the big bumps against the original ZenBook Duo and the secondary screens of the Pro Duo was the way they were oriented – they sat flush with the rest of the laptop’s body and although the lower halves of these machines were slightly tilted up, it was still It’s hard to see at a glance ScreenPad Plus. This time it is not so. In both new ZenBook Duo models, the ScreenPad itself rotates up to sit a little cleaner in the line of your eyes – consider a 9.5 degree angle for the Pro Duo and a 7 degree angle for the smaller Duo.
