Asus’ new Chromebook CX9 offers military-grade durability

Asus’ new Chromebook CX9 is a powerful Chromebook machine designed for professionals. Pricing is yet to be announced, but is coming to North America in Q2 2021.

According to the Asus Chromebook, the CX9 is powered by up to the 11th generation Intel Core i7 processor. This is an unusual processor that can be seen on a Chromebook – students and more casual Chromebook customers usually don’t need more than a Core i3, but it’s the best option for experienced users.

It also stores this power in a fairly portable chassis, which is only 0.63 inches thick (1

6 mm) and 2.2 pounds. And Asus says it meets MIL-STD-810H US military endurance standards, so you should have no problem breaking it down.

In addition, the new Chromebook supports Wi-Fi 6 and includes Harman Kardon-certified dual speakers. Asus says it is “loaded with I / O” ports, including the new Thunderbolt 4 standard, as well as HDMI outputs. And it offers the Titan C security, a Google security chip designed specifically for the Chromebook.

Asus also introduced the Chromebook Flip CX5 and C536, two user-oriented Chromebooks that will also feature 11th-generation Intel processors. These models are available in the first quarter.
