TEXAS (WJW) – Azizi, the last calf born to the hugely popular April giraffe, died unexpectedly, according to the East Texas Zoo and Gator Park.
Azizi was born in March 2019 at the Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, New York, until April, which captivated viewers around the world with two pregnancies and live births.
According to a Facebook post from the East Texas Zoo and Gator Park, where Azizi went to live when he was old enough, the giraffe died unexpectedly on Tuesday after receiving treatment for a parasitic problem.
“The veterinary regimen prescribed by the treatment seems to be working and Azizi is showing signs of improvement,”
The animal adventure park also published about the giraffe, saying that its death was “absolutely devastating for our team.”
The page reads: “We know that Azizi’s death could not have been predicted or prevented. His loss is absolutely devastating for our team and he will be loved, missed and valued by the global community of Animal Adventure Park. This news is heartbreaking and we express our condolences and support to the facility, which Azizi called home. “
