NASA astronauts Mike Hopkins, Victor Glover and Shannon Walker, along with Japanese space agency astronaut Soichi Noguchi, were on their way to the International Space Station on Sunday night. The Baby Yoda toy can be seen floating in the spacecraft during a live stream from NASA.
The crew of astronauts – as well as NASA and SpaceX – keep Baby Yoda’s presence a secret until they reach zero gravity. “Baby Yoda says you guys can get back on board,” astronaut Glover told SpaceX’s mission management, saying they could turn the cameras back on the spacecraft.
In June, SpaceX and NASA astronauts Bob Benken and Doug Hurley choseas their zero gravity indicator.
Of course, Baby Yoda, floating in space, excited Star Wars fans.
One of the tweets: “Baby Yoda is going into space! The spin of the spoiler for Mandalorian season 2?”
Another tweet: “Why is it called the International Space Station? After Baby Yoda arrives, it will be interplanetary.”
