Banker and chairman of Edmond de Rothschild Holding SA, Benjamin de Rothschild, has died at the age of 57, his family has revealed to French media.
“Ariana de Rothschild and her daughters are deeply saddened to announce the death of her husband and father Benjamin de Rothschild after a heart attack at the family home in Pregni, Switzerland, on the afternoon of January 15, 2021.” the family said in a press release Saturday.

The Chateau de Prenny, sometimes called Rothschild Castle, where the banker spends his last hours, is located near Lake Geneva. The mansion belongs to the family from the middle of the 19th century.
Born July 30, 1963, Benjamin de Rothschild was the son of Edmond and Nadine de Rothschild. He heads the group founded by his father in 1997. Benjamin de Rothschild is chairman of the board of directors of Edmond de Rothschild Holding SA, the core structure of the Edmond de Rothschild Group, which specializes in private banking and asset management.
The financial group also confirmed his death on Saturday, expressing condolences to his wife and children. In a statement on his website, he said the entrepreneur had developed the organization “In an extraordinary way all these years.” He also noted that the late businessman was also “Active Philanthropist”, as it develops “Innovation in the Adolf de Rothschild Foundation Hospital.”
