Biden inauguration 2021: What Jennifer Lopez said in Spanish

At Wednesday’s inauguration, where rebels rallied against Capitol police and stormed the seat of the representative government two weeks ago, superstar Jennifer Lopez at one point in her musical performance raised a finger and said: “One nation, under God, indivisible, with freedom and justice for all!”

This was the last phrase of the Promise of Faithfulness, people: “One people, under God, indivisible, with freedom and justice for all.” (In the distance of the shot behind Lopez can be seen a masked guest of the inauguration, leaning in the man next to her with question expression.)

Viewers on social media have kept some of their reactions at the moment. Some said they portrayed Trump supporters spontaneously burning with anger over the use of something other than American English.

“Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuue both win Spanish there,”

; tweeted journalist and podcast host Cemel Hill, along with some crying and laughing emojis. “And, people, you all know who I mean.”

But it was a familiar indulgence for Lopez, who last year co-starred in the Super Bowl halftime show with Shakira, in which she dressed in the Puerto Rican flag and sang on stage with her daughter Emma.

Lopez opened his opening performance with part of “This Land is Your Land,” a 1940 folk song by Woody Guthrie who, by the way, was an active socialist and ally of working people.

She followed the patriotic heyday with another touch of J. Lo, a striking delivery of her 1999 hit, “Let’s Make It Public.” And Lopez’s irony of bringing the hippo to the stadium to a relatively small, socially distant ceremony a year in the pandemic was not lost on Twitter.

Trump swore, “How bad can it be?” “Writer and illustrator John Paul Brammer wrote on Twitter. “Smash JLo to do ‘Let’s Get Loud’ amid the ashes of an uprising in DC. hundreds of thousands are dead. Bernie [Sanders] wear his gloves.

“I need to know if Biden’s team was aware that JLo would be working on ‘Let’s Get Strong …'” wrote writer Yashar Ali on Twitter.
