Jennifer Gates, the eldest daughter of Bill and Melinda Gates, talks about her parents’ divorce.
In a statement shared in front of her story on Instagram on Monday, 25-year-old Jennifer addressed her “friends”.
“So far, many of you have heard the news that my parents are splitting up. It has been a challenge for our whole family,” Jennifer said in a statement.
“I’m still learning how best to support my own process and emotions, as well as my family members right now, and I’m grateful for the space to do so. I won’t comment further on the separation, but please know that your dear words and support mean the world to me, “she continued.

Bill and Melinda’s daughter also shared the same joint statement she issued earlier in the day, confirming their separation after 27 years of marriage.
The former couple said that their decision to divorce came after “a lot of thoughts and a lot of work on our relationship”.

“Over the past 27 years, we have raised three amazing children and built a foundation that works around the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives,” the former couple said in a statement.
“We continue to share faith in this mission and will continue to work together at the foundation,” she added.
Gates and Melinda have a historical history together and began their decades of relationship in 1987, after parting over dinner at a trade convention in New York, when Melinda was appointed product manager at Microsoft.
“There were two chairs open … I sat down. The next chair was empty. Ten minutes later, Bill came in and sat down next to me,” Melinda recalled in a 2019 interview during an episode of The David Rubenstein Show: Peer – to conversational conversations. “

In the 2019 Netflix documentary series “Inside Bill’s Brain,” Melinda recalled when the centibionist listed his pros and cons of whiteboard marriage.
“He had to make a decision,” she said with a laugh. She added that Gates “wants to get married, but he doesn’t know if he can actually commit to it and [run] Microsoft. “
“Some surprise, certainly my surprise, we said, ‘Hey, I love you.’ And she said she loved me, and then it was like, “Wow, what’s going to happen now?” He said, adding, “You know, we took great care of each other and there were only two options: or, we were going to break up. or we would get married. “
The current exes tied the knot on January 1, 1994 in Hawaii.

In all 27 years as husband and wife, Gates would welcome three children: Jennifer, Rory, 21, and Phoebe, 18, and will also begin her extensive charity, Bill and Melinda Gates, in 2000.
The couple currently share a net worth of more than $ 130 billion, although it remains unclear how their asset dissolution will be handled or whether the technical honcho will use Jeff Bezos’ approach to his divorce and use a quick closure with a big Melinda check.
