Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Crossplay Open Beta has arrived.

Follow this post while we provide updates, as the beta continues for the second and final weekend.

Saturday, October 17 Update:

Black Ops Cold War Beta is now Open beta on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 for all players – no pre-order or codes required!

You can start downloading and playing Open Beta now by visiting the PlayStation Store, Xbox One Store or Battle.net and downloading the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Open Beta file.

The beta file is 30 GB for PS4, 20.1 GB for Xbox One and 40 GB for PC.

If you have trouble finding it, here’s a direct link:

PlayStation 4 does not require PlayStation Plus; Xbox One requires Xbox Live Gold. And PC players require a valid and active Blizzard Battle.net account.

Along with the beta, which is becoming open to all, Treyarch has increased Level to level 40. More unlocking and testing content is now available, including:

  • WEAPONS: Light machine gun RPD, starter RPG-7, pistol Magnum + others
  • BONUS: Quartermaster, Ninja
  • SPEAKERS: Air Patrol, Chopper Gunner
  • WILDCARD: Perk greed
  • EQUIPMENT: Bait, Semtex

In addition, Treyarch updated the playlist to add a return mode: Control!! Control debuted for the first time in Black Ops 4 and again in Black Ops Cold War.

Control joins our selection of 6v6 modes in Crossplay Open Beta. We are excited to bring this favorite back to a fan of Black Ops 4, where opposing teams fight to capture or defend two targets on the map or destroy the other team before they lose their lives.

Each team of up to six players has 30 lives distributed among the teams, injecting a new layer of strategy for both attacking and defensive teams. Get in control this weekend of Cartel, Miami and Moscow

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Open Beta Weekend 2 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC is live until Monday, October 19 at 10:00 a.m. PT.

Friday, October 16 Update:

Black Ops Cold War beta weekend continues. Open Beta is LIVE on the PlayStation 4, and Xbox and PC players can play with digital pre-order.

New in the beta version on October 16: Treyarch is activated Double XP and Double Weapon XP to help players level up!

From Friday, October 16, we are giving away 2XP and 2X Weapon XP for everyone during the rest of the Crossplay Open Beta weekend!

We’ve heard your feedback about wanting to try more weapon attachments available in beta, and with even more weapons joining the fight as we increase the level limit on Thursday and Saturday, halving the time it takes to level up your weapons. . Enjoy!

This will allow you to reach a higher player rank and weapon level to unlock and experience more of the content during beta.

Double XP and Double Weapon XP are active until the end of the beta.

Black Ops Cold War Beta becomes an Open Beta on all platforms from October 17 at 10:00 PT.

Black Ops Cold War Beta ends Monday, Oct. 19 at 10:00 p.m. PT.

Thursday, October 15 Update:

Starting now, Xbox One and PC players who have pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War digitally can play Black Ops Cold War Beta in early access! And all PlayStation 4 players can get back into action while Open Beta continues.

This weekend of Beta includes Cross Play between PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, allowing players across the platform to play against and against each other. You can invite your friends through the Activision Friends feature and play with all players – regardless of platform.

Black Ops Cold War Weekend 2 Beta for PS4, Xbox One and PC has 6v6 modes and 12v12 Combined Arms: Domination & Assault, the debut of Hardpoint and Fireteam: Dirty Bomb.

The player has access to Gunsmith in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War during beta to test the weapon’s customization and build system.

Treyarch has posted a schedule of what to expect during the beta weekend.

  • NEW on Thursday, October 15:
    • New level restriction: 31
    • New mode: Fireteam: Dirty Bomb & Hardpoint
    • New maps: Ruka & Alpine (both are Fireteam maps)
  • NEW on Saturday, October 17:
    • New level limit: 40
    • New mode: Control

Fireteam: Dirty Bomb is a brand new mode that Treyarch debuted in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. This mode includes 40 players with 10 teams of 4 people.

Treyarch has also made numerous weapon setup updates for Beta’s Weekend 2.

Treyarch also provided a complete list of the changes they have made since Alpha, with specific topics affected, including movement, scorestreaks, Gunsmith and before. See the full notes on the fixes before immersing yourself in the beta version of the change from Alpha.

The studio also announced a new addition: Slider of View on all platforms. Players can change the default FOV value from 60 to higher to see more on their screen. This feature has been on the computer for some time, but is now debuting on consoles. Take a closer look at the best settings to use for FOV on our Dexerto site.

As a reminder, players who reach level 10 in beta will receive SMG Blueprint in Black Ops Cold War at startup. And for those who enjoy Call of Duty: Mobile, the Cold War beta beta will unlock Russell Alder’s character.
