The new season of Voice is about to start and will be the first season without Adam Levine. Blake Shelton is the last remaining original trainer on the show. He was very close to Levine before he left.
So it's no surprise that Shelton has a message for Levin to enter this season. Find out what he said and more.
Adam Levine had a message about Blake Shelton in his message
Levine posted a message about the end of his time on the show on Instagram. He included a message for his good friend.
It read: "AND, BLAKE F * CKIN" SHELTON. I couldn't hide my love for you if I tried. Seriously. I tried. I can't do it. Our friendship is and always will be for books. Whatever this whole surreal experience was, Im [sic] just rejoiced to have it with you. You are my brother for life. Kelly [Clarkson] and John [Legend] take care of the cowboy and I'm sure I'll be back to greet very soon. "
This news was shocking to many fans. Still, Shelton revealed why he wasn't completely surprised by Levin's decision.
Shelton said many knew Levin wanted change
The coach of the country tweets his reaction shortly after the announcement that Levine is leaving and Gwen Stefani replaces him. He seems surprised.
He tweeted: "It's hard for me to turn my head @adamlevine that I'm no longer at @NBCTheVoice. After 16 seasons that changed both our lives [sic]. I only found out about this yesterday and it has not started yet.
Shelton later revealed that it wasn't really that surprising. The message made sense to Levin.
"I think everyone on the inside of the show knew he was ready to make the move," Shelton told Entertainment Tonight. "For a person like Adam who is simple – he is the most added person I think I have ever met – for him, even doing it while doing it without wanting to move on to the next thing is incredible." He went on: "But I know he's happy with his decision. Doesn't mean it was me or any of us [are happy] but at least they were able to soften the blow a bit and bring Gwen [Stefani] back.
He has a message for Levin
Shelton loves to give Levin a job even after the lead singer has decided to leave the show. The country singer gave him an interesting message.
"Adam is not on the show and I want him to know that he can still kiss me ** anywhere," he told Entertainment Tonight. He revealed how he felt when it was announced that Levin was giving up.
"Literally, you know, if Adam went, I wouldn't lie, it was scary. It's weird, "he said." Without him, it's literally shocking to not be here. "
Fans will have to wait and see what it will be like to have Stefani, Shelton, Clarkson and Legend together as coaches. Season 17 of The Voice premiere on Monday, September 23, at 8/7 CDT on NBC.
