Blake Shelton took time from his speech at the People’s Choice Awards to playfully tease his “new fiancée” Gwen Stefani.
The Voice coach took to the stage of the hybrid event in Santa Monica, California, which was attended by almost everyone, to receive the award for country artist in 2020. Like many winners tonight, Shelton began his speech with astonishment. upon completion of the production of a prize among the coronavirus pandemic.
“It’s absolutely insane and I’m so happy that we managed to get this award in spite of everything,” he said.
He ended his speech by turning to his new engagement, pretending jokingly that the audience would probably not recognize his future bride.
“I also thank my new fiancée, Gwen Stefani. Her name is Gwen Stefani. STEPHANIE – if you have to search for it on Google to find out who she is, “he joked. “So, thank you for my inspiration and I love you guys, thank you.”
The two announced on October 27 that they were finally engaged after several years of dating. Stephanie shared the big news on Instagram with a snapshot showing the country musician kissing her left hand next to the camera, showing off her new ring.

Shelton posted the same photo of the couple and titled it: “Thank you for saving my 2020 … And the rest of my life .. I love you. I heard YES!”

The couple began dating in 2015 after appearing in “The Voice” together as coaches the previous year. Since then, they have appeared together in the singing competition several times, with Shelton hosting Season 1.

The duo has even released music together, such as the song “Happy Anywhere”. Stephanie and Shelton also duet on “Go Ahead And Break My Heart,” “You Make It Feel Like Christmas” and “Nobody But You.”
