Blizzard employees revolted as they anonymously shared their paychecks

Blizzard Entertainment staff outraged their pay after an internal investigation, which must ensure that fair pay does not give the desired results for employees. Last week, the anonymous payroll began circulating among employees, and they found that the pay rise was not nearly what they expected. Their discovery comes when CEO Bobby Kotik continues to make a huge salary, far higher than many others in the industry.

Bloomberg reports that most of the salary increases received after the Blizzard survey were below 10%, which is significantly less than most people expected. Blizzard Entertainment employees have previously described having to skip meals to rent, while a veteran claims they are doing less now than they were with Blizzard nearly a decade ago.

Last year, Blizzard Entertainment was asked by parent company Activision Blizzard to cut costs, which led to hundreds of job cuts, with new responsibilities shifting to other workers without pay increases. The same story has been repeated for several years, even when company publications record profits.

One person added the salary and compensation of CEO Bobby Kotik to the anonymous spreadsheet to contrast with other salaries listed. Kotick is one of the highest paid executives in the entertainment media industry, with more than $ 30 million in compensation last year.

“Our goal has always been to ensure that we compensate our employees fairly and competitively,”

; an activision Blizzard spokesman told Bloomberg. “We are constantly reviewing compensation philosophies to better recognize the talent of our best performers and keep us competitive in the industry, all with the aim of rewarding and investing more in the best employees.”
