Columbus Blue Jax has acquired goalkeeper Kate Kincaid of New Jersey Devils in return for the fifth round in 2022 NHL, club general manager Jarmomo Kekalinen announced today.
Kincaid, 29, published a 64-55-17 record with 2.90 goals against an average (GAA), 0.906 saved rate (SV%) and seven shutouts in 151 Careers with Devils since they debuted in NHL in 2012-13. This season he set his career with high scores in the played and played minutes and finished his career high in the games played and started with a record 15-18-6, 3.36 GAA, .891 SV%, three shutouts and 2.302 minutes in 41 races 38 starts).
"While we believe that achieving a goal is a position of the forces for our club with Sergei Bobrovski and we thought it was important to add depth to the position, Kekalainen, "Keith Kincaid is an experienced national hockey league goalie who will provide that depth as we move in the last month of the regular season and in the spring."
Born in Farmville, New York, Kincaid / began winning and saving in 2016-17, ending with a record of 26-10-3, 2.77 GAA, .913 SV%, one shutout, 1,108 savings and 2,298 minutes in 41 appearances 38 starts). In 2015-16 he recorded a high career success rate of .916 SV% with a record of 8-13-3 and 2.64 GAA.
The six-pound netminder played in 143 American Hockey League cashes by recording 69-52-3 with 2.60 GAA, .908 SV% and 10 shutouts with Albany Devils from 2011 -15. Before signing a contract with New Jersey on April 11, 2011, Kinkaid spent two seasons at Union College, where he was 37-18-6 with 2.18 GAA and four shutouts in 63 games from 2009-11. He was named the first AHCA team in 2010-11 and won the ECAC Goaltender of the year after recording 25-10-3 records, 1.99 GAA, .920 SV% and three shutouts in 38 outcomes.
Kinkaid is the representative of the United States at the World Championships for Champions in 2016 and 2018. He was named one of the three best American players after leading the country to a bronze medal in the tournament in 2018 and published 2.29 GAA and .912 SV% in nine matches.
