Bob Evans recalls thousands of pounds of sausage after receiving complaints of thin blue gum in the products. The Ohio-based company said the affected products were manufactured on December 17.
The withdrawal affects a £ 4,200 raw pork sausage packed in 1-lb. Knuckles labeled “Italian sausage Bob Evans.” The products concerned have a lot code of 0352 and a “USE / FRZ BY”
It was not immediately clear what caused the contamination or how the tire got into the products.

According to a withdrawal notice posted on the website of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Food Inspection, the company has received several consumer complaints that triggered the call back. FSIS is concerned that consumers can store the affected products in a freezer. The called products must not be consumed and must be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.
