Bob Leigh, after a 40-year career at ESPN, announced his withdrawal from the network on Wednesday.
Ley, who took leave in October, said in a statement that he would withdraw at the end of this month.
He was the longest anchor of ESPN.

"Over decades and my countless experiences in ESPN I've built You know who you are. I hope you also know how much you think about me. We shared an American story that does not look like anybody else. And we will continue to do so in the coming years, "Ley said.
"I was gifted by our viewers and consumers with a valuable commodity – your trust, to be invited to your homes was a privilege I never took for granted, which I have worked every day to support, thank you for that.
"In September I signed my last show, saying," I'll catch you on the reverse. "Now it's time to take this vinyl from the rotating plate (ask your people), turn it and drop the needle on the side of V. Vinagi there are large cuts and hidden gems on the part of V.
"Thanks you for the great mileage. "
Ley joined ESPN as a Sports Center athlete on September 9, 1979, the third day of networking. In 1980, he hosted the first NCAA selection and live broadcast on the NFL project and continued to play this role over the next nine years.
He hosts ESPN's research news program at Outside The Lines. In May 1990, the ESP weekly show was also held: ESPN Sunday morning, leading to the coverage of several important stories. As host of the OTL, Ley was the leader in reporting the CTE and CTE and NFL's work on domestic violence.
Ley joins Jeremy Schaap on Wednesday in an episode of Outside the Lines (13:00 ET). The executive vice president of the event and studio production said Schaap and Ryan Smith would "handle most of the pledge duties" to go ahead with the OTL. Emi for an exclusive studio hostess in 2018 Ley and OTL won the DuPont Prize in 2014 to report youth football problems. Ley and OTL also won four Edward R. Murrow awards.
