A tribute to “one of the best and most gifting talents in the sound business”
Brad Venable, the voice of a performer known for his extensive work in television and video games, died earlier this week at the age of 43. The news was spread on social media on January 8, with heartfelt praise from many of his friends and colleagues in the industry.
Venable’s talent has been demonstrated in popular anime, TV series and video game franchises since the early 00’s. While Venable’s most prolific roles include the role of the famous Griffon in V Devil May Cry 5, and Costas and Nader in Fire emblem: Three houses, his extensive work in the industry has also seen Venable̵
Speaking on Twitter, vocalist Terry Daniel recalled Venable as “One of the best and most talented voice in business.” [Brad] was a man’s favorite and will help you with everything you need. Ridiculously talented and a real treasure. “
Christina Vee also paid tribute to Venable, recalling that he “always had a smile and a good word to say” and noted that he was “a foundation in our community and he left too soon.”
Further speeches were suggested by actors, Darrell J. Dolphin, Brian Olvera, Hoi Dao and Erica Mendes, many of whom thought about Venable’s talent and skills in voice acting, but everything of which he spoke of his kindness, generosity, and helpful, highly developed spirit. In short, Chris Hackney said, “Brad was kind. Brad was light. Brad was talented. Brad was humble. Brad was everything and more.”
