Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” was not sent for the 2021 Grammy

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” has not been sent to the 2021 Grammy Awards, Pitchfork has learned. Instead, the song will be released next year as part of Cardi’s upcoming album campaign. This album has not been announced yet.

Entries for the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards were due to be published between September 1, 2019 and August 31, 2020. Released on August 7, WAP was still in the eligibility window. “WAP” was Cardi B’s first single as a lead artist from last year’s Press and set a new record for the biggest debut week of all time. Meg followed suit with Young Thug’s collaboration “Don’t Stop” in early October.
