Central Texas Sheriff’s Son Accused of Domestic Violence Possession of Marijuana

Gatesville, Texas (KWTX) – Coriel County Sheriff’s son Scott Williams was released on bail Wednesday after being arrested and charged with domestic violence and possession of marijuana.

Samuel Williams, 27, was arrested around 8:30 p.m. on Monday after officers were sent to a home in Gatesville in response to a call for domestic violence, Gatesville Police Chief Nathan Golke said.

Coryell’s civil justice judge Coy Latham has set bail on one count of assault causing bodily harm / domestic violence, a Class A offense and a count of possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana possession, a Class B offense.

Williams was booked into Corriel County Jail on Monday night and was released after issuing bonds on Tuesday, records show.

Scott Williams said he spoke to prosecutors to ensure that his son was treated differently from any other defendant.
