Chandrayan-2 completes another operation around the moon; Now in orbit 179kmX1412km | India News

BENGALURU: The Indian Space Research Organization (Isro) on Wednesday completed another lunar maneuver and placed Chandrayaan-2 in a new orbit around the moon.
"The Chandrayan-2 spacecraft maneuver was successfully completed at the beginning of 9.04 hours as planned using the onboard propulsion system. The maneuver duration was 1190 seconds. The orbit reached 179 km x 1412 km". said Yisro after the successful maneuver, adding that all spacecraft parameters were normal.

The next lunar orbit maneuver is scheduled for August 30 between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
On 21 August, Isro performed another maneuver after burning the onboard propulsion systems in 1

,228 seconds. The orbit achieved then was 118kmX4,412km.
The TOI previously reported that the next moon-bound maneuver was scheduled for August 28 between 5.30am and 6.30am. Two more maneuvers will be performed on August 30 and September 1.
On August 20, Isro, in a 29-minute operation, steered Chandrayan-2 into an elliptical orbit 114 kmX18 072 km around the moon. Now, after the next two maneuvers, Vikram, the lander, will separate from the composite orbiter, lander and rover, integrated together – on September 2 and is expected to hit the lunar surface at 1.55pm on September 7.
