On Tuesday, the feud over schedules in the Kentucky community was resolved in part through social media. After Kentucky coach John Calipari recorded that the game between Louisville and Kentucky was scheduled for a date and time, unless “[Chris Mack̵

7;s Cardinals] choose not to play, “Mack went on to epicly unload Calipari and Britain, casting a shadow over the Hall of Fame coach and offering, mostly sarcastically, to be flexible with Kentucky’s schedule.

“They keep asking me, ‘Coach, are we playing?’ on game? Are you scared, are you a chicken? You’re not going to play Kentucky? As for the British series, I want to do what is most convenient for John and his program, “Mack said.” You believe that, don’t you? That I want to do the best for John? ”

Mack then spilled the beans on the negotiations at the back door of the originally scheduled game on December 12 and how Britain has so far been inflexible in rescheduling with Louisville. He offered a behind-the-scenes look at how Kentucky even tried to move one of Louisville’s ACC games to try to get him to work before agreeing to a truce.

“Listen,” Mack continued, “I don’t want to interfere with the best rivalry in college basketball. Whatever is most convenient for coach Cal, we will do it. See you at Yum! The center. Go cards.

Calipari weighed in shortly afterwards, not with a video response – which would be entirely epic for Twitter to handle – but with a two-sentence tweet that solved the problem entirely.

“I’ll see you on December 26,” he said. “I can not wait!”

There was some progress between the two leading up to Tuesday in terms of rescheduling the game and the possibility of the two sides not reaching an agreement, but Mack’s video brought warmth to the conversation and quickly ignited. And that’s right, whether it was a performative sound or not from Mack, one of the best rivalries in all sports is back.
