HGTV star Flip or Flop Tarek and Christina El Musa have given up on him after seven years of marriage

Christina Ansted and Ant Anstead split a year after welcoming their first child together, Christina Ansted announced.

In an Instagram post on Friday, the HGTV star wrote that she and Ant, host of the British car show “Dealers on Wheels”, “made the difficult decision to separate”.

“We are grateful to each other and as always, our children will remain our priority,” she said. “We appreciate your support and ask for privacy for us and our family as we navigate the future.”

Ant Anstead has not yet spoken publicly about the separation.

Last September, the Ansteads announced that they had met a boy named Hudson London Anstead.

“Welcome to the world … I’m in awe! Mom and baby are just perfect!” At the time, Ant Ansted wrote in an Instagram post along with a photo of his wife holding their newborn in a hospital bed.

They both have children from previous marriages: Christina and her co-host Flip or Flop, Tarek El Musa, were married from 2009 to 2018 and have two children: a daughter, Taylor, 9, and a son, Braden, 5. Ant has a son, Archie. 13 and daughter Amelie, 16, with his ex-wife Louise.

The couple married in a surprise ceremony at their home in Newport Beach in December 2018. In May 2019, Ansted told USA TODAY that she was excited to start a family with Ant after experiencing “love at first sight”.

“I felt like I’ve known him for centuries and we’re just super comfortable with each other,” she said. “We just have a great relationship, he’s amazing. He’s super caring and understanding and he really motivates and supports me.”

She added: “He’s great with my kids and he’s already an amazing dad, but I’m glad to have a baby with him.”
