Clubhouse quickly achieved huge success earlier this year, reaching over 8 million downloads in the iOS App Store in February. However, with increasing competition, things are not going well for the audio-based social network. A new report says the app registered about 900,000 downloads in April, falling from a peak of 9.6 million downloads three months ago.
According to a study by Sensor Tower shared with Business Insider, Clubhouse had 922,000 downloads worldwide in April 2021. This represents a 66% drop from 2.7 million downloads in March – and is even more significant compared to the 9.6 million downloads that Clubhouse had as of February.
Sensor Tower data shows that the retention of the Clubhouse by users is still strong, which means that the majority of users who have downloaded it still have the application installed. However, the significant drop in the number of downloads is worrying for the company, as it means that fewer potential users are interested in its social network.
