You will certainly want to keep an egg in your endless orange incubator throughout the event, but don’t be tempted by the reduced hatch distance for paid incubation. For many players, this is not a bonus at all.
Although you will hatch eggs faster, this bonus will not allow you to hatch more eggs. If you have few incubators, this is actually an inappropriate bonus.
In the same way that we treat incubators and super incubators alike when analyzing prices in the inherited special list of boxes, the 1/4 hatch distance doesn’t actually improve what you hatch.
If you’re currently hatching a batch, feel free to keep doing it and do it throughout Community Day, if you please. If you are not hatching now, there are 0 reasons to start during the CD. It̵
While the last point is certainly valid during Community Day, you should still keep an egg in your endless orange incubator at all times. The 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance bonus actually allows your orange incubator to hatch more eggs as it has unlimited use. Although mitigated with this bonus, 7 km of eggs in your orange incubator should still be avoided. Two more things to consider;
Preservation of incubators
One of the best apps in the paid incubator game is Community Day events involving 10km of hatchable Pokemon. During Ralts, Larvitar and probably Beldum CD, the presented Pokemon can be obtained through eggs at increased speed. For CD Ralts, 100% of eggs obtained contain Ralts (Note: The egg content is determined when the eggs enter your inventory, although the rate of gloss increases only if they hatch during Community Day). Therefore, it is highly recommended to save incubators to be used for future Community Days with the participation of rare Pokemon. (You will probably prefer to keep your incubators for Gible!)
