Coronavirus news: The CDC says most infections are spread by asymptomatic people

NEW YORK (WABC) – The Centers for Disease Control found that most coronavirus infections are spread by people who show no symptoms.

These findings were published on the agency’s website on Friday.

According to the CDC, 24% of the prevalence is from asymptomatic people, compared with 41%, which comes from people who experience symptoms of COVID-19.

The other third are those that are thought to be asymptomatic.

NJ COVID update

“The numbers speak for themselves,” Murphy said via Twitter. “Please take this seriously. Wear a mask. Social distance. Avoid large gatherings.”

NYC 7-day positivity rate rises again
The 7-day positive rate in New York has risen again, Mayor Bill de Blasio said on Saturday. The mayor said on Twitter that the average infection rate in the city for 7 days was 3.11%, yesterday it was 3.02%. The city reported 1,345 new positive cases of COVID-19, while 118 additional patients were admitted to city hospitals.

The NJ Food Bank distributes thousands of Thanksgiving dinners
A food bank in New Jersey distributed thousands of dinners on Saturday to make the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday special for families in need. The Community Food Bank of New Jersey has distributed 2,000 holiday food boxes in the parking lot of Keane University in Union. The driving event was designed to help Union County residents dealing with food insecurity as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
