COVID update in Illinois today: IL reports 1,740 new coronavirus cases, 42 deaths



CHICAGO (WLS) – Illinois public health officials reported 1,740 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 42 deaths on Thursday.

IDPH reports a total of 1,193,260 cases of COVID-19, including 20,668 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

As of Wednesday night, 1,200 patients in Illinois were reported to be in hospital with COVID-19. Of these, 260 patients were in the intensive care unit and 128 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.

In the last 24 hours, laboratories have reported testing 73,990 samples for a total of 18,389,512 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The preliminary seven-day positive test for the country from February 25 to March 3 is 2.9%.

A total of 3,563,775 doses of vaccine were delivered to suppliers in Illinois, including Chicago, with an additional 443,700 doses distributed to federal government long-term care partners, resulting in a total of 4,007,475 delivered to Illinois.

When will children be able to receive the COVID vaccine?

IDPH reports that a total of 2,993,543 doses of vaccine have been administered, including 330,328 in long-term facilities. The seven-day mobile mean of the vaccines administered was 78,942.

-Cook County: 2 men 50s, 2 men 60s, 1 woman 70s, 1 man 70s, 2 women 80s, 3 men 80s
-DuPage County: 1 male 50’s, 1 male 60’s
-Kane County: 1 woman in the 50s, 1 woman in the 60s
-Lake County: 1 female 50s, 1 male 50s, 1 male 60s, 1 female 70s, 1 female 90s
-LaSall County: 1 woman from the 80’s
-Macon County: 1 male 80’s
-Madison County: 1 woman 70s, 1 man 70s

-McLean County: 1 male 70’s
-Monroe County; 1 male 80s
-Morgan County: 1 woman from the 70s
-Ongel County: 1 male 80’s
-Peoria County: 1 male 60’s, 1 male 70’s
-Sangamon County: 1 male 60’s, 1 male 80’s
-Stephenson County: 1 woman 100+
-Will County: 1 woman 30s, 1 man 50s, 1 woman 60s, 2 men 60s, 1 man 70s
-County Winnebago: 1 woman from the 90s
